Calling all bird-lovers! The Birding Enrichment Program for elementary school children in grades 1-4 combines the joy of birdwatching with hands-on activities, offering a fun and engaging way for students to explore the world of birds. In this interactive program, children will learn to identify local bird species, bird calls and monitor bird behavior through guided nature walks, activity at on-site bird feeders and watching live bird cams all while recording their observations in a bird journal. In preparation for the spring migration of our feathered friends, students will make homemade bird feeders, suet and hummingbird nectar, learn how to draw birds, create a bird mural and form clay bird sculptures. We'll even spread their wings in outdoor bird-themed physical education games. The Birding Enrichment Program helps children develop a deeper understanding of our natural world and fosters a sense of environmental stewardship.
